Whenever Elsa uses her powers to call the snow you can hear Christine's high pitched singing. Some people think it's some kind of a magic flute, but she's only using the Scandinavian herding call technique called kulning or kauking. Christine is one of the few authentic herd callers in the world as she learned it while herding goats in the Norwegian mountains as a child.
In addition to the
kulning Christine was also asked to write
lyrics in ancient
Norse for the Coronation Scene;
Heimr Árnadalr which is sung by the choir. Norse is known as the language of the
Vikings and is now extinct.
The Original Score was written by film composer
Christophe Beck. The movie was directed by
Jennifer Lee and
Chris Buck and the songs were written by
Kristen Anderson-Lopez and
Robert Lopez.
